All Ready for Halloween Banner

Greetings!

Thank you for stopping by.  Today I have a Halloween Banner to show you.  I saw the idea for a banner in the Holiday Catalog and I loved it, but in the catalog, it says SPOOKY.  I didn't really want to make an identical copy and I didn't really care for Spooky, so I thought I'd go for a longer banner and make HALLOWEEN!  My four year old daughter and I made this together and we had a blast!

We used the Banner Simply Created Kit (#132699 for $9.95).  It comes with 18 blank canvas paper pennants.  There are 3 designs: rounded, banner, and flag shaped at the bottom.  We also used the Halloween Banner Simply Created Accessory Kit (#132698 for $9.95).  It comes with everything you need to make a cute banner.  I added a few pieces of the Witch's Brew Designer Series Paper (#132185 for $10.95) since I made my banner a little longer than the kit was intended for, but there's plenty of ribbon, buttons and accessories to make the banner and have left overs for your projects.
The Banner Simply Created Kit comes with letter stencils (a-z), 3 design stencils: chevron, polka dot and stripes and a spritzer for you to add ink to.  I don't really purchase refills (needed for a spritzer), so I used my ink pads and a sponge to create the backgrounds and the letters on each of my banner pennants.

The bad, skull and spider all come in the accessory kit and, you can't really tell in the picture, but they are glittery!  The accessory kit also comes with the paper already scored for the rosettes.
It might be a little late to get a banner ready for Halloween, but we have a kit for a Christmas Banner too!! (#132698 for $9.95)  It makes a beautiful banner like this one:

Hope you enjoyed my fun project!  Check back soon!

Spooky Treats!

Good Morning!

Last Friday, I had a Spooky Treat class.  We made 12 treats that are perfect for co-workers, children, family and friends!  I had a lot of fun putting these together and I can't wait to give them out.
We used the Pumpkin Pie Goodie Gear Simply Created Kit (132792) to create the candy corn treats.  The kit is only $4.95 and it comes with the supplies to make 10 treat bags.  The stamp is from the coordinating set, Oh, Goodie! (131886 wood $10.95, 131889 clear $8.95).  The kit is easy, quick and cute!  The sucker treat came out really cute too! I'm going to make these for Amari's preschool classmates.  Suckers are probably better than a bag full of candy...
I used the Tags 4 You stamp set (131820 wood $19.95, 131823 clear $15.95) and coordinating punch, Label Bracket Punch (132153 $15.95).  These require a few more supplies including the Big Shot and accessories, but they came out great!

Next, we created 6 cellophane bags of peanut M&Ms and topped them with different stamps for. The Halloween Hello stamp set (131718 wood $18.95, 131721 clear $14.95). Just a tip- it's easier to stuff the cellophane bags with regular M&Ms or skittles but I like peanut M&Ms better.

And my favorite one last.... We made these cute bags using the Tag A Bag Gift Bags in the annual catalog (131370).  You get 10 bags for only $3.95 and they are the perfect size! We stamped the bag with Pumpkin Pie ink and the stamp from the Toil & Trouble stamp set (131724 wood $22.95, 131727 clear $16.95) to give the bag a little Halloween touch.  Then we sealed the bag with the Withches Brew Designer Washi tape (132156 $3.95).  We also used the Witches Brew DSP (132185 $10.95) and a couple of stamps from Halloween Hello (131718 wood $18.95, 131721 clear $14.95).

We had a great time and made some spooky treats for our friends!  If you missed this class, you can purchase the kit still.  Contact me at nicholevg@gmail.com today!  If you'd like to buy the supplies we used, please check out my online store at http://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/default.aspx?dbwsdesmoid=2065945. Ladybug Ink Blog Hop

Good Morning and Welcome to October's Ladybug Ink Blog Hop!

Today, we are featuring Thanksgiving projects and I have to admit, I'm not quite there yet.  I've been busy working on Halloween projects... I'll get those posted soon!

So, for today's card, I have a Thank You card.  This stamp set, Friendship Preserves, was in last year's Holiday Catalog and it made it into the 2013-2014 Annual Catalog.  I love it!

The stamp set coordinates with the Window Frames Collection for the Big Shot.

Below is another card I thought I'd share.   My upline and fellow blogger, Amber, created this card for us at our last Shoebox Swap. We used the thumping marker technique on the leaf.  This card uses the new Thinlit die.

Here's a view of the card when it's opened.
