All Ready for Halloween Banner

Greetings!

Thank you for stopping by.  Today I have a Halloween Banner to show you.  I saw the idea for a banner in the Holiday Catalog and I loved it, but in the catalog, it says SPOOKY.  I didn't really want to make an identical copy and I didn't really care for Spooky, so I thought I'd go for a longer banner and make HALLOWEEN!  My four year old daughter and I made this together and we had a blast!

We used the Banner Simply Created Kit (#132699 for $9.95).  It comes with 18 blank canvas paper pennants.  There are 3 designs: rounded, banner, and flag shaped at the bottom.  We also used the Halloween Banner Simply Created Accessory Kit (#132698 for $9.95).  It comes with everything you need to make a cute banner.  I added a few pieces of the Witch's Brew Designer Series Paper (#132185 for $10.95) since I made my banner a little longer than the kit was intended for, but there's plenty of ribbon, buttons and accessories to make the banner and have left overs for your projects.
The Banner Simply Created Kit comes with letter stencils (a-z), 3 design stencils: chevron, polka dot and stripes and a spritzer for you to add ink to.  I don't really purchase refills (needed for a spritzer), so I used my ink pads and a sponge to create the backgrounds and the letters on each of my banner pennants.

The bad, skull and spider all come in the accessory kit and, you can't really tell in the picture, but they are glittery!  The accessory kit also comes with the paper already scored for the rosettes.
It might be a little late to get a banner ready for Halloween, but we have a kit for a Christmas Banner too!! (#132698 for $9.95)  It makes a beautiful banner like this one:

Hope you enjoyed my fun project!  Check back soon!

Spooky Treats!

Good Morning!

Last Friday, I had a Spooky Treat class.  We made 12 treats that are perfect for co-workers, children, family and friends!  I had a lot of fun putting these together and I can't wait to give them out.
We used the Pumpkin Pie Goodie Gear Simply Created Kit (132792) to create the candy corn treats.  The kit is only $4.95 and it comes with the supplies to make 10 treat bags.  The stamp is from the coordinating set, Oh, Goodie! (131886 wood $10.95, 131889 clear $8.95).  The kit is easy, quick and cute!  The sucker treat came out really cute too! I'm going to make these for Amari's preschool classmates.  Suckers are probably better than a bag full of candy...
I used the Tags 4 You stamp set (131820 wood $19.95, 131823 clear $15.95) and coordinating punch, Label Bracket Punch (132153 $15.95).  These require a few more supplies including the Big Shot and accessories, but they came out great!

Next, we created 6 cellophane bags of peanut M&Ms and topped them with different stamps for. The Halloween Hello stamp set (131718 wood $18.95, 131721 clear $14.95). Just a tip- it's easier to stuff the cellophane bags with regular M&Ms or skittles but I like peanut M&Ms better.

And my favorite one last.... We made these cute bags using the Tag A Bag Gift Bags in the annual catalog (131370).  You get 10 bags for only $3.95 and they are the perfect size! We stamped the bag with Pumpkin Pie ink and the stamp from the Toil & Trouble stamp set (131724 wood $22.95, 131727 clear $16.95) to give the bag a little Halloween touch.  Then we sealed the bag with the Withches Brew Designer Washi tape (132156 $3.95).  We also used the Witches Brew DSP (132185 $10.95) and a couple of stamps from Halloween Hello (131718 wood $18.95, 131721 clear $14.95).

We had a great time and made some spooky treats for our friends!  If you missed this class, you can purchase the kit still.  Contact me at nicholevg@gmail.com today!  If you'd like to buy the supplies we used, please check out my online store at http://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/default.aspx?dbwsdesmoid=2065945. Ladybug Ink Blog Hop

Good Morning and Welcome to October's Ladybug Ink Blog Hop!

Today, we are featuring Thanksgiving projects and I have to admit, I'm not quite there yet.  I've been busy working on Halloween projects... I'll get those posted soon!

So, for today's card, I have a Thank You card.  This stamp set, Friendship Preserves, was in last year's Holiday Catalog and it made it into the 2013-2014 Annual Catalog.  I love it!

The stamp set coordinates with the Window Frames Collection for the Big Shot.

Below is another card I thought I'd share.   My upline and fellow blogger, Amber, created this card for us at our last Shoebox Swap. We used the thumping marker technique on the leaf.  This card uses the new Thinlit die.

Here's a view of the card when it's opened.

Ladybug Ink Blog Hop: Holiday Catalog

Good Morning and Welcome to September's Ladybug Ink Blog Hop!

Today, we are showing projects using items from our Holiday Catalog.  I have 2 cards I recently made for a Holiday Catalog Stamp A Stack.

First, I made a Halloween card using the Witches Brew DSP, Witches Brew Washi Tape, Tags 4 You stamp set and coordinating Label Bracket Punch.
My next card for you today is a lovely Christmas Card.  I CASEd the card of one of my fellow Ladybugs, Angela.  I used the new Bow Die for the Big Shot, the Winter Frost DSP, and a large rhinestone. I used Bermuda Bay, Smoky Slate, Whisper White and Pool Party card stock which coordinates with the DSP.

Thank you for stopping by!  Next stop is Kay Jantz at http://ktmyldyandlife.blogspot.com

Ribbon Roll Control Blog Hop!

Good Morning and Welcome to August's Ladybug Ink Blog Hop!

This month's theme is ribbon and these great ribbon organizers called Ribbon Roll Control!  I have 4 of them now and I absolutely love them.  Here's a picture to show why I love them so much.

Before I had these, I used a dowel rod and I would get so frustrated -- it was a pain when I rolled too much out and had to put it back because all the other rolls would unravel.  It was a pain when I ran out and needed to get the empty roll replaced.  All in all, I needed a better way and then, I found it!! Ribbon Roll Control was perfect and I love, love, love them!!  I don't have to worry about replacing rolls, if they'll fit, unraveling the entire collection to fix one....Worry free ribbon organization!!!

So, on to my ribbon project for today -- I saw cute little hair clips at Convention and I knew I had to recreate them for Amari! I love combing her hair and adding a cute bow although, I have to admit, we lose them all the time which is even more reason to make them myself!!

This set is made with our Crochet Trim and Linen Thread.

This one is made with our new Cherry Cobbler 3/4" Chevron Ribbon and a little piece of Whisper White Stitched Grosgrain.

And finally, this set is made with retired ribbon from our last mini catalog and some retired buttons.

Hoe you enjoy and happy hopping!

Convention Make and Take Helper

Good Morning!

Today, I'm sharing a Convention Make and Take project.
We were given 5 projects to complete and this one was my favorite.  It's the Tag A Box Gift Box!  We also used one of the stamp sets we received, Hello, Lovely.  Isn't it cute?
So, I'm not too big on the feathers, but they were super easy to make and add a nice touch to the box.  You punch a circle with any size punch. Then, insert your circle in the punch again to get the size of feather you desire.  Next, use your snips to cut along the sides, giving it the feather flair!
You may not be able to tell the size of the box, but they are large enough to hold cookies, onesies for a baby, golf balls and tees for a Man's gift or....
.....................Washi Tape for a stamper!!!

At this year's Convention, I was selected to be a Make and Take helper!! It's quite an honor and only a few are chosen.... 5800 demonstrators attended and only ~75 were picked!! I got a special sneak peek of the projects and made mine a day before everyone else.
Andrea Withers, the Stampin'Up! Employee that coordinated the Make and Take session, gave us these badges to identify ourselves.
It was a really great experience! It made my first Convention even better!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Goodies from Convention!! And My Own Stamp with Undefined!

Look at all my new Stampin'Up! Products!!

I received over 7 new stamp sets, make and takes, roommate gifts, a Paper Pumpkin kit, washi tape, a nd a beautiful backpack (not pictured) to carry it all in.  I ended up checking an extra bag on the way home!!

On the bottom left of the picture, there's a wood stamp.  It's called Undefined.  It's a new product from Stampin'Up! that allows you to design and carve your own stamp! It's pretty amazing and I was able to try it out at Convention.  Check it out:
So, I have to admit that I didn't do it right, but I don't know if you can tell.  Well, my original plan was to create a monogram stamp... N for Nichole.  I drew the sun and butterfly around it to make it cute!  I stood in line for awhile waiting to get my chance to carve and when I was called to my spot, I panicked!! I way overthought it... Which is silly because I'm a stamper and know they need to be backwards...so when I transferred the image and realized it was backwards, I transferred it again and carved it the way it should have stamped.....

I think I lost you haha -- anyway... My stamp doesn't have a N after all but I ordered another kit to make a better one!  They are really fun!  My next project is to have Amari write her name (it's super cute at this age) and carve it out so I can cherish the memory and stamp her items like thank you card, birthday cards, etc.

You can order your Undefined kit today for $19.95!! And refills are only $9.95.  Contact me today at nicholevg@gmail.com or place your order online at Nichole.stampinup.net
