November Ladybug Ink Blog Hop

Good Morning and Happy Friday!  Welcome to this month's Ladybug Ink Blog Hop featuring Holiday projects!! If you're hopping, you just came from Kim's page.  Isn't she talented?

I chose to put together a Thanksgiving card.  I was inspired by our fellow Ladybug, LaRee's swap at our last Ladybug Ink downline meeting (swap can be seen here).  She made a turkey with the owl punch and DSP and I thought it was so cute, so I decided I wanted to make one!

I've been seeing the Peacock stamp in so many projects on blogs and Pinterest and decided that I wanted it, but I wasn't too crazy about the whole stamp set, World Treasures.  Thankfully, Stampin'Up! decided to make this a single stamp so, last Monday, during Stampin'Up's huge stamp sale, I was able to purchase my Peacock (and many more stamp sets)!!

I stamped the Peacock image 3 times - once in Pacific Point, then Lucky Limeade, then Rich Razzleberry.  I cut out each part and used dimensionals to put him together.  He doesn't look like your normal turkey, but I think he's cute!
In this card:

Stamp Set -- Single stamp World Treasures Peacock (132330), Perfectly Penned Thank You
Paper -- Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Tangerine Tango, International Bazaar DSP, Very Vanilla, Daffodil Delight, Cherry Cobbler
Ink -- Pacific Point, Lucky Limeade, Rich Razzleberry
Accessories -- Owl punch, Big Shot, Argyle embossing folder, Chocolate Chip 1/2" Scallop Dots ribbon, Old Olive 1/2" Scallop Dots ribbon, rhinestones (colored black with Sharpie), lots of dimensionals

Halloween Treats!

  Happy Halloween!!

Today's project is for my daughter's classmates.  I made 32 of these little candy wrapper boxes!  They are quick and easy to do with the Big Shot.  Each one has two bite size candies... More than enough for 3 year olds.
I used 12x12 card stock and cut it into 4 - 6x6 pieces. Then I used Stampin'Up's candy wrapper die and ran it through the Big Shot.  You  can run 2 sheets at a time to save time.  Next, I adhered a little piece of DSP 2" by 5.5" down the middle.  Then I used sticky strip to put the boxes together.  I sealed the ends with 1/8" silver mini brads and my paper piercer.  I was going to leave them with that, but decided to add a little more embellishment, so I added ribbon and a stamped image from the hostess set Mixed Medley.

Happy Halloween!! Thanks for stopping by!

September Ladybug Ink Blog Hop: MDS

Welcome to our Ladybug Ink Blog Hop!!! This month we are featuring our MDS projects.  I'm not a pro at MDS, but I'm learning thanks to Heather Summers' online MDS class.  The new MDS2 has so many neat features that make scrapbooking so much fun -- now to just find the time especially with a newborn and 3 year old.

I've been pretty bad about keeping up with my children's scrapbooks, so with the arrival of my 2nd child, I vowed to take notes, journal and scrapbook more often so I don't forget.  The time goes by so quickly and unfortunately, so do some of the memories.  I have to say that I'm not doing as well as I had hoped, but I was able to get an announcement together and MDS made it very easy, quick and, most importantly, cute!

Thank you for stopping by and keep hopping on to Miss Kay's blog next!

Merry August!

Christmas cards in August?!?!  I guess it's never too early to start preparing for the Holiday Season!  I have loved this stamp set for quite some time but I kept putting off purchasing it.  Finally, I got it! And I'm so happy I did.  It is such a pretty set and can be used to make quick, easy, and pretty cards.  If making a lot of cards for friends and family, especially during the holidays, I'll appreciate the "easy to make" cards so much more!

Thanks for looking!

Move over Night Of Navy... Midnight Muse is here!

This is a little late today but I made it!  It doesn't make any sense but now that I'm home on maternity leave, I can't get anything done!  I accomplish so much more when I'm working.... That still doesn't make me want to go back anytime soon though! Haha
I made this card for one of our Ladybug Ink card swaps a few months ago.  This card features all new products in the 2012-2013 catalog including the new In Colors.  At first, I wasn't too fond of the yellow color, called Summer Starfruit, but it's growing on me.  Honestly, it looks a lot like the baby's stinky diapers, but it looks well when combined with other colors especially my new favorite color, Midnight Muse - the dark blue color.  Night of Navy used to be my favorite but it's been replaced!

Thanks for looking!

Don't forget to sign up for my next class/Stamp-A-Stack on August 29th!!!

Items used in this card:
Stamp Set -- Layered Labels
Card Stock --  Whisper White, Summer Starfruit, Midnight Muse, Patio Party DSP
Ink -- Midnight Muse, Summer Starfruit
Accessories -- Big Shot, Apothecary Accents Framelits

126916 Patio Party DSP
127070 Wood/127072 Clear - Layered Labels Stamp Set
127003 Apothecary Accents Framelit Dies for use with the Big Shot (coordinates with the Layered Labels stamp set)

Floral Birthday Wishes

Yay! Last night's class was a success! We made great cards and had a good time! I love stamping with others. The next class will be on August 29th and we'll be making a different set of cards.  In September, I'll be starting Christmas cards and I'll have a separate class for 3-D objects like ornaments and other Christmas gifts. Check back for dates and info!
I've been trying to clean out and organize my craft room lately.  I have a lot of retired products that I'm trying to use up and now, I'm regretting that I don't use them before.  I tend to "hoard" my Designer Series Paper (DSP) especially, so this catalog year, I'm going to try and be less stingy with it! We'll see how it goes....
This card is my first attempt to use up the DSP!  It's been retired, but I love the flowers.  I used the Reason To Smile stamp set for the 1st time as well!

Used in this card:
Stamp Set -- Occasional Quotes (retired)
Card Stock -- Rose Red, Certainly Celery, Whisper White, Beyond The Garden DSP (retired)
Ink -- Blushing Bride, Certainly Celery, Rose Red, Old Olive
Ribbon -- Pink Grosgrain (retired)

It's A Patio Party!

Here's the 5th card we'll be making tonight!  We can always use birthday cards and this one could be used for any age and could even pass for a masculine card.  I always struggle with cards for guys.  This card uses a lot of products from the new catalog.  The stamp set is called Make A Cake and the DSP is called Patio Party.  I also used the Chevron embossing folder to add a little texture to the card.  I CASEd ( Copy and Share Everything) this card from another Ladybug Ink stamper, Carmelita.  She prepared a card very similar to this as our make and take at one of our monthly meetings.  That's one of the perks of being a demo - we get together once a month to share ideas, learn from each other and get inspiration to create!

Celebrate!

Today I'm showing the invitation I made for my daughter's 3rd Birthday party.  This year, we had her party at Peter Piper's and she had a blast!  I really wanted to use the cupcake punch for her invitation and I'm glad I did! I think they are really cute and girly.  I used the 2010-2011 In Colors for the card but they are now retired. The picture doesn't show it well, but the cupcake looks
like it is really frosted - I used crystal effects to give it a layer of shine!

Used in this card:
Stamp Set -- Outlined Occasions
Card Stock -- Blushing Bride, Concord Crush, Pear Pizzazz, Whisper White
Ink -- 2010-2011 In Color Stampin' Write markers
Accessories -- White Grosgrain ribbon, Crystal Effects, Cupcake Builder Punch, Eyelet border punch, Polka dot embossing folder, paper crimper

Join us on August 14th at 6:30pm for our August Stamp A Stack! I'll be showing the cards we'll make over the next few days! There will be 5 designs and you'll make 2 of each one.  You'll get the new catalog and holiday catalog, snacks, door prizes and more.  Cost is $20

I've been busy making these cute petite purse favors for my friend's baby shower this Saturday, so I thought I'd share them with you!  I used the Stampin'Up! Petite Purse Bigz L die for the Big Shot.  I love my Big Shot because it's so easy to use and so versatile.  It does everything from cutting purses like these to embossing with the folders.  You can cut paper, cork board, magnet sheets, fabric and lots more.  It's perfect!

I used the following items in this project:

Paper: Basic Black, Riding Hood Red, Whisper White, Twitterpated DSP
Ink: Bashful Blue Stampin'Write Marker

Father's Day

Today's post is short and sweet.  I used My Digital Studio this past weekend to create this Father's Day gift.  It's really simple -- I wanted the main focus to be on the pictures and poem.  My daughter turns 3 next week, so this was extra special.  The pictures begin when she's just minutes old all the way to the last few months.  She's grown so fast and she absolutely loves her Daddy, so I think it came out perfect!

I found the poem a long time ago on Pinterest and saved it.  I thought it was so sweet and the perfect poem for a toddler to her father.

Thanks for looking...

Friday Scrapbook layout

Happy Friday!

Today's post is a scrapbook page that I was preparing for the Stampin'Up! Artisan Contest.  Every year, Stampin'Up! has a contest for demonstrators -- each demonstrator that participates sends in 5 cards, 3 scrapbook layouts and 2 3D items.  The contest opens in January and closes on May 31st.  I started my projects and had every intention of submitting my projects, but then I was placed on bed rest for 3 weeks, so I decided to wait until next year.  Stampin'Up! selects 10 winners each year and it's a huge honor and accomplishment.  Each winner is awarded with $500 cash and a $500 shopping spree.  In additon, each Artisan Award winner recieves new products monthly to create projects that are often featured on the SU Facebook page, website and catalogs.  SU also picks 10 runner-ups that recieve a $250 shopping spree.  I figured it wouldn't hurt to try for it, so next year, I'll be busy from January - May preparing my entry!!

These pictures are from last year-- I'm really behind on scrapbooking.  Honestly, scrapbooking is really hard for me, so it takes me a long time to come up with ideas and - I'm not sure if others feel this way - but I have a hard time cutting the photos for cute layouts.  I can't wait for My Digital Studio 2 to come out - that might be a better way for me to scrapbook.

Used in this layout:
Stamp Set -- Fabulous Florets (123025 Wood, 123027 Clear)
Card Stock -- Melon Mambo 12x12, Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight, Beyond the Garden DSP, Whisper White
Ink -- Black Stazon, Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango, Versamark
Ribbon -- Baker's Twine
Accessories -- Brights Designer Buttons, Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dots folder, Labels collection framelits, Alphabet dies, Beautiful Butterflies Bigz die, Tangerine Tango embossing powder

It's a Boy!

The last few weeks have been extremely busy, but I've been stamping a lot!  I'll be showing all of my projects over the next few days....

My Mom gave us a co-ed baby shower/BBQ and we made these invitations together.  This stamp set, Baby Prints, came out in the Occasions Mini and I bought it immediately.  It's so cute and I knew it would be perfect for our upcoming events.  I was worried that it would be discontinued, but thankfully, it's in the new catalog too!  If you haven't seen the new catalog, check it out
We hand delivered these invitations, so I decided to go with something a little less traditional than a 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 card.  I used the Bashful Blue card stock to make a pouch for the Night of Navy insert and added the tab punch at the top to help pull it out.  You can't really tell in the picture, but the feet are stamped on shimmery white paper.  After we completed the invitations, we realized that we should have printed the invitation portion on shimmery paper as well... maybe next time!

Used in this card:
Stamp Set -- Baby Prints (125470 Wood, 125472 Clear)
Card Stock -- Bashful Blue, Night of Navy, Shimmery White
Ink -- Bashful blue, Midnight Muse
Accessories -- Silver mini brads, tab punch
Thank you for looking....come back tomorrow for another idea :)

Moms Are Best!

Good Morning!

It's been awhile since my last post.....I've been on bed rest for the last few weeks, so I didn't do much of anything.  I'm feeling much better now, so I'm back!!   Today's post features cards I made for Mother's day last Sunday.  I made 3 of them: one for my Mom, my Mother-in-law, and my Grandma.  They all loved them... A homemade card is so much more special than a store bought card.
In the first card, I used Melon Mambo (my favorite color) and daffodil delight.  In the second card, I used Concord Crush and Pear Pizazz DSP.  These cards use the Big Shot for most of the layers, but they are simple and quick to make.  I used the Alphabet dies that are sadly retiring on May 31st, the Hearts framelit collection (the new catalog has even more of these!), the butterfly embosslit, and the polka dots embossing folder (my favorite folder that I probably over use).

I received my new catalog pre-order items this week and I can't wait to play! I'll be busy this weekend creating new things to show next week, so stay tuned!  Thanks for stopping by!
